FAQ

aha bls cpr classes

Who typically takes the AHA BLS CPR Classes?

These classes are typically taken by healthcare professionals or students in a healthcare profession (such as nurses, EMT/paramedics, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, physical therapists/PTA’s, CNA’s, techs, pharmacists, dentists, dental assistants, occupational therapists, behavioral techs, etc.)

What concepts does the AHA BLS class cover?

The American Heart Association BLS class covers CPR, AED,  airway techniques, and choking relief for adults, children, and infants. This course also covers how to work together as a team during a resuscitation attempt.

When do I get my official AHA BLS certification?

Your official certification is issued at the end of your class so you have it the same day before you leave our office!

How long is my certification valid?

All American Heart Association certifications are valid for a period of two (2) years. All AHA certifications are valid through the entire month in which the class was taken. Every two years you will need to re-take the class to renew your certification.

Can I take this class if I'm not healthcare provider?

Yes! You do not need to be a healthcare provider to take this class. This class is open to anyone ages 16 and older. For students younger than 16 or anyone who needs a non-medical CPR class, another option to get CPR certified is through the Heartsaver classes.

I'm a nursing or EMT student. Is this the right class?

Yes, this is the right class! Only American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are accepted by local schools and you’ll have your official certification the same day as your class before you leave our office!

Is there an online only option for AHA BLS classes?

No. The American Heart Association requires hands-on skills be performed in front of an instructor to obtain a BLS certification. There is a hybrid option where you can complete the course online and only come in to demonstrate your skills (see above AHA Heartcode – Part 2).

How do I register for a class?

You can register for any of our classes online 24/7 using the link above. We don’t take reservations over the phone or accept walk-ins. Our classes typically fill up quickly so we suggest registering at least a week in advance or sooner if you need a specific date. Pro Tip: Weekend classes typically fill up the fastest!
