The United States Coast Guard (USCG) requires individuals seeking their boating captain license to receive their CPR/AED/First Aid certification. At Mid-Florida CPR, we offer a convenient USCG approved CPR class completed mostly online. You must complete the entire Heartsaver course, which is called “Heartsaver Total” and you may not skip any “optional” modules of the course.
To complete the United States Coast Guard requirements for your CPR & First Aid Certification, first purchase and complete the online Heartsaver CPR/First Aid. Choose the Heartsaver Total path option once you begin the course and make sure you complete all optional modules! Once completed, you can schedule your in-person hands on skills session at our office in Longwood (you’ll be required to upload your completion certificate during registration).
If you don’t see a date/time that works with your schedule, contact us and let us know so we can try to find an alternative date that works for your schedule. Your skills session will take slightly longer than the scheduled times, as you’ll need to complete the written exam required by the United States Coast Guard. The entire skills/exam typically takes around 1-1.5 hours depending on your skill level. After successful completion, you will be issued your American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid certification as well as the required AMERHA-216 certificate.
